Shatterhand @ King Tut's

Well Well Well.......Shatterhand at Tut's? Yep, for reasons best known to themselves we're opening for groundbreaking glam punksters Rachel Stamp on 23rd Nov at the legendary Glasgow venue. Tickets are £9 on the night or a measly £5.50 from us any time beforehand so just let us know and save yrself some hard earned drinking pennies :) Seriously though, try get along to this one 'cos it's gonna be a good 'un - we can feel it in our wee bones! And don't forget the Nothington show(s) coming up in Feb - excited about those ones here :)

Tenement killed!

Here is a video by JDM at NPAF a week and a half ago. I got a few pictures when Tenement was at JJ's on Tuesday too! They played a 20 minute set in about 15 minutes...hah! Really wish I could have caught them more than once on this tour but there was work and all that bullshit. I know...should have just said "fuck work"! Everyone that blew that gig off is eternally lame by the way! Half of the kids there were from Atlanta by the look of things. I'll need to put a few choice pictures up on the Unsane space since that was the first time I caught one of my bands on film. Everything is up on my personal myspace but it's set to private. You can send a request as long as you're not a total douche!

Web Updates

Unsane Asylum is hosted on it's own server now! It may take a while for the DNS to update for everyone though... Can't even get to the site directly myself yet. I've also started adding band pages. You can read up some on Annalise and Life Giving Waters but those are still being polished! Big thanks to Ed and Ilkka for giving so much help on those. I'll be bugging the bands we're in process of releasing soon to get some pages up for them.

Annalise gig this December!

Set your faces to stunned... Annalise is playing a gig this December! With Dillinger Four even. If I'm not mistaken this is their first outing since the Newest Industry all-dayer back in 2005. Really wish I could make this one... Have one for me lads! And don't wait so long next time!

New website!

As you can see, I'm somewhat finished with my sexy cool new website design! The old black and white version was just there until I could figure out what I wanted to do with this... The inspiration for this one was basically my apartment (hah!). It may take me a while to figure out how to make the blog match up with the regular HTML pages though. You'll notice a few new page additions too! Much much more to come...

Tenement tour!

Everyone on the mailer got this full list sent to them a few days ago. Tenement will be on tour for the next 6 weeks! If they're playing anywhere within 100 miles of you, seriously, go!!! Check the dates listed on their myspace. All of the recordings are done for their split with Shatterhand. I just gotta sort the final artwork and shit out! We also got confirmation on a Phoenix Foundation (fi) split with Her Spectacles (jp) about a week ago. The early mixes from TPF sound good! This one will be out near the end of the year...

Natter with Shatterhand

Time for some Shatterhand news! The lads were interviewed for the Falkirk Herald a little over a week ago. Seems everyone in town read the article... I reckon it was Tosh that got asked for an autograph afterwards...hah! You can also see some pictures from the last gig on their blog. Dave sent me remixed versions of the new songs also. Just need Tenement's new song(s) and me to get my photoshop rolling for the artwork and the new 7" will be ready imminently! I'll be announcing some Tenement tour dates soon too. Radio Radio

Ilkka emailed me after the Leatherface gig in Finland last Saturday. Where he got to hang out with the band and even watch from the stage! Dickie Hammond, who turns out is a huge Manifesto Jukebox fan, got a promo of LGW's new cd. As Ilkka said "that really got Ville off guard, who is who's fan here ?!? hahah". He posted several videos from the night on his youtube channel. There's also a new review (the first I've seen?) from Rokki Zine that gave Almost There... a 9/10 and called it the best release this year! You may need to brush up on your Finnish before trying to read it though... They've been getting some plays on Radio Noise too. And don't miss out on Tenement's new split with the Used Kids! You can pre-order it from 608 Kisses now. Don't hesitate because their records always sell out fast!!!

Just an FYI

I figured out yesterday that blogger's new template is totally jacked and won't let anyone leave comments. After looking up the instructions on how to fix the problem... Which means totally ripping the guts out of the code and basically starting from scratch!!! It's gonna be a while before the problem is fixed (i.e. When I feel like getting a migraine). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Next Shatterhand Gig

Shatterhand will be brushing off the cobwebs of the summer hols with a free gig up in sunny Perth, UK on Saturday July 18th, at the Twa Tams with The Gin Goblins and the rather mighty Tortura Nervosa. Hope some of you can make it!

Mailing List Now Available

I just setup a spammer proof email form on the contact page. So, if anyone needs to ask a question or request to be on the mailing list, all you have to do is type it in and hit submit! You'll get both release updates and tour info when available. I'm also giving my bands access to the blog so they can post gig updates straight to the front page. Keep an eye out for that!

Free album streams @ last.fm!

Having just figured out how to do it, I uploaded both Turning Japannalise and Almost There... at last.fm! You can stream the entire albums and I made two of my favorite LGW songs available for free download too. You can get to everything direct from my Unsane Asylum label page or on the individual band pages. Rad! I'll be making a streaming playlist once we have a few more bands ready for representation there. And on that note... Tenement vs Shatterhand is getting very close to completion!!!

Re-Turning Japannalise

Yes... I have a million puns. But you'll be excited to know that I finally "re-packaged" my Annalise EP into a zip file. And all you have to do is click the link on the releases page to download it! The files should be of a slightly better quality too since Ed sent me a cd-r copy several months back. I also sent a promo copy of Almost There... to Razorcake yesterday so keep an eye out for a review there! I had to let my sub with them expire due to shit work conditions though. Irritated and bummed...

Within a week or so Almost There will be available from our friends in Japan, Fixing A Hole! I also started the much needed rebuild on this website. I still have a few more things to do design wise... And a lot more content to add. But you get the picture! It's turning out good, I think.

With the recent demise of Life Giving Waters, Ilkka and I have decided to release a rareties/b-sides album. Which will be a free download on the Unsane Asylum website including printable artwork and traycards. Once everything is sorted out I'll let you know when it's ready!
